PenTest+: CompTIA PenTest+

PenTest+ is CompTIA’s intermediate offensive security exam, designed to validate the skills required to plan and scope an assessment, understand legal compliance, and perform vulnerability scanning. Unlike the CEH, it includes performance-based questions that test practical assessment skills and covers the "soft skills" of reporting and communicating findings. It covers the latest attack surfaces, including cloud, hybrid, and web application environments. While not a full 24-hour lab like OSCP, it provides a solid theoretical and procedural baseline for junior penetration testers. It is compliant with ISO 17024 and DoD 8570 standards.
