MATH 2201: Multivariable Calculus

The third course in the calculus sequence extending single-variable calculus concepts to three dimensions and vector functions. Topics include vectors, curves in space, partial derivatives, directional derivatives, gradient vectors, multiple integrals in various coordinate systems, vector fields, Green's Theorem, Stokes' Theorem, and the Divergence Theorem.

• Three-dimensional geometry and vector algebra: dot products, cross products, planes, and parametric curves in MATH 2201
• Partial differentiation: tangent planes, directional derivatives, gradient vectors, and Lagrange multiplier optimization
• Multiple integration: double and triple integrals in Cartesian, cylindrical, and spherical coordinate systems
• Vector calculus theorems: line integrals, conservative fields, Green's Theorem, Stokes' Theorem, and Divergence Theorem in Multivariable Calculus
