2019-20 or earlier catalog: GE Area D1 Survey of the second half of U.S. history, including reconstruction, industrialization, the regulatory state, foreign affairs, and the remaking of citizenship rights and society. Particular attention to how race, class, and gender shaped changing definitions of freedom and equality. Not open to students with credit in HIST 206.
