ECE 101: Introduction to Electrical and Computer Engineering

Gateway course for ECE undergraduates introducing hardware circuits, analog/digital signals, microcontrollers, and embedded systems programming. Students build physical circuit breadboards, interface sensors and actuators, program microcontrollers (C/C++), and design introductory robotics/IoT projects.

• Fundamental programming constructs: variable typing, conditional logic, iterative loops, and modular functions in ECE 101
• Memory models and data representations: arrays, string parsing, reference passing, and scope resolution
• Introduction to algorithmic thinking: linear/binary search, basic sorting algorithms, and recursive problem decomposition
• Software development practices: debugging methodologies, unit test assertions, and structured coding style in Introduction to Electrical and Computer Engineering
